Does Workers’ Comp pay for Medical Bills

Yes. Workers’ Compensation pays for all medical bills stemming from a work related injury.  There is no limit to the amount of bills that will be paid, as long as the injury is work related.

However, bills are paid under workers’ compensation, meaning there is usually a specified amount that insurance will pay.  Similar to health insurance, there are set rates by the Workers’ Compensation Commission of Maryland.  This is why certain doctors do not accept workers’ comp cases.  And often, health insurance doesn’t want to pay for the injury if it is work related and covered by comp.  Therefore, make sure your doctor or health care professional knows it is a work related injury.
